Journey to Morocco for the sights, sounds, and tastes unique to Northern Africa.
We start in Marrakech. A city influenced by the Berbere culture and French occupation. From the insanity (and fun!) of the souks to the calm respite of our traditional Riad (guest house), you will find much to explore, much to attract your attention and excite your senses. We will visit a traditional Hammam, restored walled garden, and learn to cook a classic tagine while we are here.
After 4 nights in Marrakech, we drive through the Atlas Mountains to arrive on the coast in Taghazout, one of Morocco’s surf meccas. Staying just across the sidewalk from the Atlantic Ocean, the sound of waves will be our soundtrack as we explore the ocean, waterfalls, local crafts and more here to round out our experience of the country.
While we have many activities planned as a group (see the itinerary below), I’ve also built in free time for you to explore, contemplate, or just be. This free time + our yoga practices will give you time to decompress from Western culture and integrate your new experiences.

Our itinerary is subject to change due to availability and weather considerations.
Our yoga practices will be mixed level, themed around the philosophical idea of the paramitas or perfections of yoga that lead to unfolding path to enlightenment. Stepping into a new culture is an ideal time to experiment with how we live and how we view the world. The heightening of the senses brought by a yoga practice enhances not just our internal travels but brightens the new world we find our selves in. An especially prime time to really dive deep into your self and a new culture. Expect yoga asana to soothe the body and nervous system; movement to strengthen and support our activities, pranayama & meditation to help us integrate our experiences; and at least one really juicy Yoga Nidra practice.
Breakfast is always provided and most dinners. We have a few days that we will eat lunch together but most will be on your own. Eating lunch out is very inexpensive and a great way to get to know your way around and immerse in the culture.
